How safe is my USD deposit at Bitstamp?

Bitcoin is a very new technology and as of today there's no law regarding the insurance of your USD when you send them to an exchange. That means that if the company fails and goes bankrupt, or there's a technical issue and their databases get wiped out, there's nobody that can send you your money back.

As it happened to MtGox this could happen to any other exchange, Bitstamp included. As much as you trust them, technical issues could happen, regulations might pass that wouldn't allow you to withdrawal from these exchanges. Who knows what could happen.

Bitcoin relies on the concept of zero-trust, so the fact that we have to trust exchanges with our money is kind of against Bitcoin's principals.

Personally, when I want to buy/sell bitcoins, I transfer little amounts to these exchanges, and get them out as soon as I've...

As 2017 begins it seems easier than ever to

buy Bitcoins

with your credit card. The only issue is knowing from who to buy. In this post I’ll cover all known (legit) methods to buy Bitcoin with a credit card.

Just for general knowledge, the reason that buy Bitcoins with a credit card isn’t available all around is due to chargeback issues that most sellers wish to avoid (for a detailed explanation look here). So many exchanges need to protect themselves in order to offer this service and not all of them have the technology to do so.

Before I explain the different methods one word of warning. NEVER leave your Bitcoins at an exchange or a website. Once you purchase Bitcoins from any of the methods explained below move them into your Bitcoin wallet immediately. If you still don’t have a Bitcoin wallet you can compare the different wallets here. So make sure to get this step out of the way before buying your Bitcoins.

EUR USD, “Euro vs US Dollar”

The EUR/USD pair has moved downwards and reached the predicted target of the descending wave. We think, today the price may be corrected towards 1.1830. However, the instrument may continue falling inside the downtrend and reach 1.1697 and form the first half of the wave. The main target is at 1.1475.

GBP USD, “Great Britain Pound vs US Dollar”

The GBP/USD pair has almost completed the descending impulse. Possibly, today the price may test 1.3091 from below and then start another descending structure with the target at 1.2922.

USD CHF, “US Dollar vs Swiss Franc”

The USD/CHF pair has broken its consolidation range to the upside and right now is testing 0.9700 from above. After that, the instrument may grow to reach the local target at 0.9862.

USD JPY, “US Dollar vs Japanese Yen”

The USD/JPY pair has reached a new low and then returned to 110.82, thus forming another consolidation...

Bitcoin exchange Bitstamp has temporarily halted withdrawals and emailed users a warning about using old deposit addresses. Earlier today, Bitstamp noticed an issue with their hot wallet and stopped processing withdrawals and is not honoring deposits made to old Bitcoin deposit addresses. According to Bitstamp, the private keys to old deposit addresses may have been lost.

Bitstamp users have been unable to withdraw bitcoins for over 24 hours and though Bitstamp has confirmed the issue, the extent of the damage has yet to be officially revealed.

UPDATE: Wallet Breach Causes Bitcoin Exchange Bitstamp to Temporarily Suspend Service.

Some are comparing this situation to the Mt. Gox implosion, and though lost bitcoins are involved in both scenarios, the comparison is too rash. In the case of Mt. Gox, we are just now hearing confirmation that 99% of the missing Gox bitcoins were...

I'd like to buy bitcoins via SEPA deposit automatically with a recurring schedule. To specify this with an example, I would like to purchase bitcoins for 100 EUR each month, at the current market rate, without manual intervention. For this, I can set up a recurring payment at my bank to a SEPA bank account. The manual way to do this at Bitstamp would be:

Start SEPA deposit at Bitstamp for 100 EUR.Make a bank transfer to the given account with the given message.Wait for funds to appear at Bitstamp.Use instant order to purchase bitcoin for 100 EUR (converted to dollars).Wait for the transaction to complete (may take days if market fluctuates).Withdraw bitcoin from Bitstamp to a given address.

I am not bound to a single exchange, any one of them will do as long as they roughly follow the current market. I am not afraid to run a server, or to create my own program using an API to do this. However, I am not willing to use screen scraping, because I would wish for this to run with...

Bitcoin exchanges are one of the most important parts of the Bitcoin ecosystem. For those of us who are not lucky enough to have wealthy Bitcoin-owning friends or jobs paying in BTC, they provide a valuable service by making it possible for Bitcoin users to buy and sell bitcoins without finding someone to trade with on their own. For those who use Bitcoin as a way to buy ordinary products, such as electronics at the Bitcoin Store or prepaid cell phone topups at Bitcoin Wireless, cheaper than they can be found elsewhere, Bitcoin exchanges are what provide the necessary liquidity to make their savings possible.

There are a wide variety of Bitcoin exchanges available today, with a wide array of payment methods to choose from. However, many...

NEW YORK (InsideBitcoins) — On Wednesday, multiple Bitstamp traders were reporting delays related to their USD denominated deposits. Although there was originally no clear reason as to why these delays were taking place, it now appears that a culprit behind the deposit issues has been found. After reaching out to Bitstamp, Inside Bitcoins has learned that Standard Chartered Bank will no longer be processing bitcoin-related wire transfers.

Official response from Bitstamp

Once reports of deposit delays starting popping up on Reddit and Twitter, we reached out to Bitstamp to get some clarity on the issue for their customers. At the time, Bitstamp was investigating the problem, and they didn’t have much information to share with the media or their users. Today, Bitstamp provided Inside Bitcoins with the following statement related to the delays on USD denominated deposits:

“We recently learned that an intermediary bank, Standard Chartered Bank, which is processing...

Attackers made off with approximately $5 million worth of bitcoins after hacking the Bitstamp exchange over the weekend.

The attack, on Jan. 4, targeted Bitstamp’s operational wallets, the company said in a statement on Tuesday. Operational, or hot wallets, are connected to the Internet and allow customers to instantly exchange the virtual currency.

Bitstamp suspended operations on Monday to investigate the attack and at the time instructed customers to not deposit to previously issued bitcoin addresses, saying those transactions won’t be honored. On Tuesday’s statement, it further emphasized that customers should refrain from making deposits and added that law enforcement is also involved in the investigation. Bitstamp didn’t specify which law enforcement organizations are investigating, nor did the U.K. company respond to a request for comment.

The company also reiterated that its customers’ bitcoins are safe, saying that a majority of the exchange’s bitcoins...

So this market is UNTAPPED and has not been diluted already... that's key factor number one.

Aside from the staggering results and untapped potential, the second factor to consider is the limited availability. There's no chance that this is going to hold leverage that hurts its users... EVER!

You only need to look at the verified broker proof (that's right, not just backtests) to see how well Commodity Robot works.

I've not only done backtests and forward tests, Ronald and Antony worked countless hours to find the best brokers to trade with it while making custom deals to keep trading spreads as low as possible...

They trade real life cash... hundreds of thousands of dollars with it!

Factor number 3 is that Commodity Robot is UNHACKABLE... it features a life-checking algorithm that protects its integrity and code as well as connecting frequently to the mother A.I., checking for updates and validating its...
