I sent bitcoins to my wallet before it had synced. is there ANY way i can get my coins back? [duplicate]

So I'm at a wedding and I've been chatting up Bitcoin with my cousin, and now he wants to try it. So I'm ready to send him some coins, but this is not so simple. He has to: open the app store, find a bitcoin wallet that he likes, download that, open it, go through some setup process with warnings and such about backing up and losing his coins, create a passcode which he might forget, etc. Then after that I have to tell him to click on the "receive" button (or whatever that wallet has) and hold up his phone for me to scan the QR.

What I would like to do: Open a website on my phone that lets me enter his email address or phone number which then generates a receiving address for me to copy and paste into my wallet so that I can send the coins to that address. So the work is all on me.

After I send the coins he would get an email or SMS with a link which would let him, open a minimal "web enabled" wallet that does not require login (link would be all they need). Once they...

Hi @Kevin_Barata,

There's no need to worry, if you sent your coins to the right address everything will be fine

It is important that you pay attention to two things :

keep your key/password/passphrase safe ( those you entered when creating your wallet, you should also have encrypted your wallet )

keep safe your "wallet.dat" file ( it is the most important file that keeps all your addresses )

The synchronization is also a very intensive CPU task, it's not strange It takes a long time ... depending on your hardware specifics and line speed, a full synchronization can take several days.

During synchronization, your download may be stopped until the downloaded data has been "processed".

Please note that you will need to download more than 70GB.

Can you give us some information about your system ( operating system , hardware , line speed ) ?
How many data did you already downloaded ? ( you can check the property of your...

Bitcoin is the currency of the Internet: a distributed, worldwide, decentralized digital money. Unlike traditional currencies such as dollars, bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever: there is no government, company, or bank in charge of Bitcoin. As such, it is more resistant to wild inflation and corrupt banks. With Bitcoin, you can be your own bank.

I recently got a new phone and imported the wallet from the old one. The app has been synchronizing now for a few weeks and can't seem to get past "8 months behind". It got to 9 months behind within one day, spent a day or two at 9 months, and has been at 8 months ever since. I have the Connectivity Indicator notification turned on and there are always connected peers, but I can't see anything else to indicate it hasn't become stuck.

I have also noticed that the app is prone to crashing (I noticed this to a larger degree on my old phone too, perhaps because it was fully synchronized). When the app crashes, the connectivity indicator remains in the notification drawer, but I'm not sure if it actually is continuing to sync at this time.

Is there a way to check that syncronization is actually progressing and hasn't stagnated? Is there any information I can provide to help with debugging?

I very much hope someone is knowledgeable enough to point me to the right direction and help me locate my Bitcoins which are nowhere to be found:

1. Created a "request payment" in Bitcoin Core and used the payment information address to send coins from my localbitcoins.com account.
2. I deleted the "requested payments" entry in the Bitcoin Core wallet before coins were received.
3. Blockchain.info shows the a "total received" and a "final balance" as well as 99 confirmations so I presume the transaction was concluded.
4. My wallet is fully synced. I restarted it numerous times with the -rescan option and compared the block numbers; both in my wallet's debug window and the last one shown in blockchain.info are identical.
5. Support at localbitcoins.com confirms that the transaction has been sent successfully and confirmed on Blockchain.

Yet, after some 48 hours, the coins haven't been received by my Bitcoin Core wallet, i. e. the balance remains...

So you want to send some bitcoins for a payment, a gift, or another reason? You can do all of this from a Blockchain web wallet. There are actually three options on sending bitcoins. From easy to advanced, this tutorial will explain the basics of those three options for you, and how to send bitcoins using them.

Quick Send

Quick Send is the easiest and fastest way to send bitcoins from your Blockchain wallet. It’s as simple as entering in a Bitcoin address, the amount you want to send, and then sending the payment. Quick Send will use your default miner’s fee setting when sending bitcoins. To view/adjust this, go to your Account Settings, and click on General to view the Default Fee Policy. To use Quick Send, login to your My Wallet, and click on Send Money on the top menu, and then Quick Send to get started...

Will this method actually work ?

Probably yes. I’m saying probably because I have received a handful of emails from people who weren’t able to get their Bitcoins. having said that, from all of the people who didn’t get their coins I haven’t gotten one email stating their money wasn’t returned to them. So yes, the process is a bit irritating but I have been using this method since 2013 and it hasn’t failed me yet.

How much fees will be deducted from my deposit ?

This is probably the second most asked question I get. It’s important to understand that when you buy Bitcoins through Virwox you are actually conducting two transactions. USD to SLL and SLL to BTC. This means you’ll need to pay a fee for each of these transactions.

The problem is that Virwox’s fee structure is always changing that is why I advise to check each case in person before proceeding. There is a pretty cool site which shows you the current BTC/USD rate after all of Virwox’s fees. I’m...

Why Bitcoin Core Won’t Sync

While bitcoin core is the original and most recognized bitcoin wallet, it is also extremely bulky and requires a ton of resources to run. With the bitcoin core wallet you have to download the entire bitcoin blockchain (over 8 years of bitcoin transactions) and keep it synced to be able to spend your bitcoin. The bitcoin blockchain is over 100 GB in size which is too large for most users to store and can still take weeks for some people to download before they can use the wallet. Many people accidentally send bitcoin to their core wallet without realizing how long it will take to sync, then decide they would like to use another wallet. This guide will help you recover your bitcoins from bitcoin core, then transfer them to a lightweight wallet that is easier to use.

Sent Bitcoins to Wallet but never arrived. | Localbitcoins

tempestb

My Local Bitcoins wallet says they were sent. The Blockchain has no record of them being sent. Localbitcoins FAQ says to contact the wallet folks, which is them, to find out what happened. Is the forum the only way to reach someone here?

davidnshana12

yes it is.

tempestb

Thanks, I see they had a Support tool to send an email to them about the problem. So I did that but no response as of yet. The wallet says the coins were sent, but Blockchain says, "No transactions found for this address, it has probably not been used on the network yet." And I'm clicking right on the hash in the wallet to see that response. And it's the same in both places. Hopefully they can fix this problem.

davidnshana12

and also wait til 3 confirms come up too.

I sent bitcoin to MultiBit Classic but they never arrived

What is the symptom ?

You sent some bitcoin to MultiBit Classic but the bitcoin never arrived. There is no record of the transaction in MultiBit Classic.

What can you do about it ?

The first thing to check is whether the bitcoin was actually sent ok. You can do this as follows:

Request the transaction id from the person or company that sent it to you.Check the transaction on Blockchain.info or Bitcoin Block Explorer to be sure that it is actually on the Bitcoin network.

I've verified that the transaction is on the block chain and it's confirmed

To get the missing transaction into your wallet:

Click on the wallet in the 'Wallets' side panel to make it the active wallet.Go into the 'Tools | Reset Block chain and Transactions' menu option.Click on the 'Reset block chain and transactions' button and let MultiBit Classic sync the block chain. Just leave...

What is Darkcoin?

DarkCoin is the first privacy-centric cryptographic currency with anonymous block transactions powered by DarkSend. We currently have a fully functional public beta for DarkSend, see below.
DarkCoin uses a new chained hashing algorithm approach, with many new scientific hashing algorithms for the proof-of-work. This is so that the processing distribution is fair and coins will be distributed in much the same way Bitcoins were originally. ASICs will be much more difficult to make for these algorithms and will take years.
With the chained hashing, high end CPUs give an average return similar to that of GPUs. Another side effect of the algorithm is GPUs run at about 30% less wattage than scrypt and 30-50% cooler.
