Do you get text messages on your phone from people and companies you don’t know? Adverts, scams, phishing and other text message irritations can easily be blocked on your Android phone.

When companies and marketers get hold of your phone number, they can call you and text you with annoying messages. Usually they are trying to sell you something and you are rarely interested.

They can be blocked so you do not see the message and you don’t hear the chime from your phone notifying you of the incoming message.

Specific numbers can be blocked , but you can also block text messages based on the content. So if you keep getting fake messages saying you have won the lottery, you can block all messages containing the word ‘lottery’.

If you have fallen out with a friend or partner, or someone is pestering you with messages you don’t want to see, even bullying, you can block their number and prevent them from texting you. All it takes is a minute of your time...

The Jets are a week into training camp. There have been a few surprises and plenty of things that looked just as we expected. One week in, here are my five biggest takeaways:

1. I’m not buying the idea that this is an open competition at quarterback. I think coach Todd Bowles just wants to foster the idea of competition and is paying it lip service. The way they have divided up the team reps tells the story.

First, let’s just forget about Bryce Petty being the starter. He barely is getting any team reps (four on Friday), and the ones he does get are with the third-team.

That leaves Josh McCown and Christian Hackenberg. So far McCown has gotten nearly all of the first-team snaps — and when I say “nearly all,” I mean about 99 percent. Hackenberg has worked with the second unit throughout camp. There has been no rotation, no alternating series, nothing. McCown looks like the starter and Hackenberg is the No. 2.

The only way I see this changing is if...

When you connect more than one keyboard to your pc, you might get some interesting ideas what to do with them. Perhaps you could use one for standard typing, and the other one for some special tasks. When you delve deeper into the multiple keyboard setup, you might find yourself asking a question, "Can I block the key input for running application based on what keyboard was used to generate it?". Let's say you have Notepad opened, when you press "a" key on the keyboard 1, you want the "a" letter to be written into the document, but when you press the "a" key on the keyboard 2, you want some task to be performed in the background, and Notepad not even notice the keystroke. When I encountered this problem, I had some troubles finding the answer and solution. Therefore I decided to write this article, to make it easier for you, if you ever happen to ask the same question. The article will assume some knowledge of the Windows programming, but I will try to point you to...

I've written some code for connecting to the network, receiving inventories, and requesting data. What I am noticing is that my local node never sends me inventory messages with blocks in them unless I specifically request blocks.

So if I do a getblocks call with a zero stop hash I will get all of the blocks up to the tip, but never any inventory messages after that. Is there some kind of signalling necessary to tell the node i am connected to that I want inventory block messages to stream to me when new blocks are found?

I am connecting with protocol version 70002, relaybool is 1, nodeservices is 1.

I don't see other mentions of this issue so I'm wondering if there is a negotiation issue that isn't being caught or some other problem.

There is no visible ban score, connection is from localhost, I get a verack and normal tx inventory messages are streamed. This happens regardless of whether -whitelist is used. I just never get block inventory updates or...

I'd say that there are a couple of things to note here:

raw_input isn't patched by eventlet, so its calls are blocking threading is patched by eventlet, so threads are acting as coroutines

One way to workaround this would be to avoid patching threading, so that threads are real threads. To do that, you just need to replace:

eventlet.monkey_patch(os=True, select=True, socket=True, thread=False, time=True)

Note that when thread is True the following modules are patched: thread, threading, Queue.

Edit: If you want to patch threading and have an asynchronous raw_input, then I suggest the following implementation:

def raw_input(message): sys.stdout.write(message) select.select([sys.stdin], [], []) return sys.stdin.readline()

This will poll sys.stdin to check if it's ready for reading. If that's not the case, it will yield control to eventlet to let other coroutine...

Hi All,

My Samba server/firewall has three (two real, one
virtual) network cards:

eth0.5: connects to a terminal server
eth0: internal network with about 10 XP workstations
eth1: the Internet

Samba is set to talk to only, eth0.5
and eth0.

I have my firewall iptables rules set so that
users on eth0.5 can only use the samba server
on my server. They can not share with any other
user on eth0. Tested and it works. So far so good.

Problem: users on eth0.5 can still see eth0 workstations
on their browse list. Even though they can not do
anything with them, I would still be nice if eth0.5
users could not see them at all.

I do believe the offending rules:

$tbls -A Vlan-in -i $VlanNic -p udp -s $Vlan_net -d \
$Vlan_Broadcast --dport netbios-ns -j...

>> I am starting from basics

To Provide ASM disk , we can use RAW DISKS or BLOCK DISKS.

>> Is this right ?

If we go for RAW DEVICES, we need to bound RAW DEVICES with BLOCK DEVICES via a Process called binding.

e.g # raw /dev/raw/raw1 /dev/sdb1

If we go for block devices , do we need to use ASMLIB SW ?

# ls -l /dev/sdb*

brw-r----- 1 root disk 8, 16 Jul 31 03:10 /dev/sdb

brw-r----- 1 root disk 8, 17 Jul 31 03:17 /dev/sdb1

The main reason there are no raw devices is that I personally think that
raw devices are a stupid idea.

drbdadm attach data isn't the only command you want to be using after creating the metadata.

One of the following procedures should work for getting your device up:

# drbdadm create-md data # drbdadm up data

-- or --

# drbdadm create-md data # drbdsetup-84 new-resource data # drbdsetup-84 new-minor data 1 0 # drbdmeta 1 v08 /dev/sdb internal apply-al # drbdsetup-84 attach 1 /dev/sdb /dev/sdb internal # drbdsetup-84 connect data ipv4: ipv4: --protocol=C

Once you've done that, you'll have a device with a connection state of "Connected" and a disk state of "Inconsistent/Inconsistent"; this will always/only be the case after you create brand new meta-data on both nodes. From there, simply pick one node to promote to Primary, which will cause DRBD to sync from Primary -> Secondary:

# drbdadm primary data --force

You should never under normal circumstances need to use "--force" to promote your DRBD device from here on...

I have found a temporary solution:

BlockStore blockStore = new MyCustomBlockStore(NETWORK_PARAMETERS); blockStore.getChainHead(); blockChain = new BlockChain(NETWORK_PARAMETERS, blockStore); PeerGroup peerGroup = new PeerGroup(NETWORK_PARAMETERS, blockChain); peerGroup.setDownloadTxDependencies(1000); peerGroup.setBloomFilteringEnabled(false); peerGroup.addPeerDiscovery(new PeerDiscovery() { private final PeerDiscovery normalPeerDiscovery = new DnsDiscovery(NETWORK_PARAMETERS); @Override public InetSocketAddress[] getPeers(long services, long timeoutValue, TimeUnit timeoutUnit) throws PeerDiscoveryException { final List peers = new LinkedList(); peers.addAll(Arrays.asList(normalPeerDiscovery.getPeers(services, timeoutValue, timeoutUnit))); InetSocketAddress[] isas = new InetSocketAddress[0]; return peers.toArray(isas); } @Override public void shutdown() { normalPeerDiscovery.shutdown(); } }); peerGroup.startAsync();...
